Most advisors charge in only a couple of ways: Commissions, Fees-Commission and Fee-Only. But fee-only advice is based on an advisor billing you based on the value of your account, so as an example an account worth let's say, $355,000 might have a fee between 1.0% to 1.4% of assets. That would be a fee of between $3,550 and $4,970 per year and that fee will go up as your account goes up in value, whether the market value increases because the stock market does well or; because you add additional dollars.
At Barry Capital, our fee for the same account would be about $2,880 and our fee remains at the level whether your account goes up in value and no matter HOW it goes up in value.
