Barry Capital Management

Our firm was founded on the simple principal that everyone deserves and can benefit from proactive ongoing financial advice.

In 1995, the year of our inception, we committed to delivering high-end financial planning and wealth management services to the broadest number of clients that we could. We believed then, as we do now, that when a client can work closely with an advisor to set appropriate goals, set aside the resources to meet those goals and work together to monitor both progress and change on an ongoing basis, there's a greatly increased chance of realizing the life that you desire.

Too many people either accept what they believe that their balance sheet allows them to do, or fail to plan at all. The statistics on the growing number of American's who will fail to live the retirement that they once had envisioned bears this out. We are in fact, crunched for time, inundated by data and paralyzed by the weight of too many choices.

At Barry Capital, we believe that clients can in fact achieve their life-long vision for their future. It takes hard work, dedication and commitment of a team of people all pulling in the same direction. As orchestrator of the plan, we work at a deep level, grasping the relationship between relationships, detecting broad patterns rather than just delivering only on specific solutions. We willingly take our place at the center of the process, guiding the conversation, asking the right questions and listening, always listening, especially when it's most important.

As a firm, our focus is on the ultimate success of each of our clients. We serve a diverse and active clientele with special attention to customer service.

Perhaps more important, our long-standing client tenure and high marks in our own client satisfaction surveys all say something very special about our commitment to the relationships we value most.

As the financial planning profession matures, it's commitment to fee-only services and a fiduciary standard of care align with the values we have long advocated for.

Bob Barry, CFP®- Founder and President

In 2003 during his term as National Chairman of the Financial Planning Association, (FPA), Research Magazine featured Bob in an article titled, "The Apostle of Planning" and in assessing his strengths, called him, "the professions most eloquent voice."

The profession has been served by any number of organizations over the last forty years. The IAFP (International Association for Financial Planning) was one of those organizations. Bob served on the Northern New Jersey IAFP board for seven years, including three as President in 1988, 1989 and 1990 before being elected to the IAFP National Board of Directors in 1993. At the national level, he served as Ethics Chair, Chair of the Strategic Issues Advisory Council and served three years on the National IAFP Executive Committee.

In 1999, eight individuals, four from the IAFP and four from the Institute of Certified Financial Planners (ICFP) were chosen to negotiate the IAFP/ICFP merger which would ultimately combine the nation's two largest financial planning organizations. Bob was one of the eight individuals chosen to accomplish this important task.

The resulting organization, the Financial Planning Association (FPA) was formed in 2000. Two years later, Bob was chosen as FPA's first elected National President serving his term in 2002 followed by a year as National Chairman in 2003.

He has spoken both domestically and internationally on the value of financial planning and financial planning advice. Through countless radio, television, print media and personal appearances, he has been a constant voice advocating the benefits of proactive financial advice.

Bob lives in Hackettstown, New Jersey and has a daughter, Brittany who is 16.
